Where is this year going? How are we already nearing the end of March?!⏰

I will say, though—it’s been rewarding in more ways than one.

Connecting with so many of you in Immersion, gathering inspiration, and staying consistent with my art practice—these little moments in the day feel like wins, like fuel to keep up my momentum. (Which, by the way, is my word for the year!)

This month, I invited Jennie from @toboggan_avenue into Artful for a chat on creating a workflow in Canva and honing a signature style. And as we talked, I had one of those aha moments—how even in these conversations, in learning from one another, you see your own steps forward. The road isn’t always straight, but we’re all finding our way, hitting the same bumps and turns, and moving forward just the same.

I also shared a new blog post this month, The Unexpected Gift of Connection. Three years ago, I went all in on this journey—alone. (Not something I love doing.) But what I didn’t expect was how much connection would come from it. Stepping into new groups, meeting others, and growing alongside them has been the greatest reward.

Speaking of momentum, I also had to recognize when to pause. This year, I decided to sit out the Golden Coil contest—something I’ve entered every year since I started. At first, I felt a little disappointed, but I realized my focus is elsewhere right now, and that’s okay. I don’t have to do everything every year—just what feels right in the moment. Some things can wait, and when the time is right, I’ll come back to them.

This year, I started keeping track of my wins—big and small. Anything that feels like progress goes into a running log, and looking back has been a great reminder that even in the busiest (or quietest) times, steps are being taken. And as for the swans? They're a reminder to keep swimming. Progress doesn't always look the way we expect, but it's there... in the little steps too.

Lately, I’ve been loving the flow of sketching and inking—starting with loose pencil lines and then bringing them to life in pen. The sketch, with all its imperfections, becomes my guide. I can see through the layers and find the shape waiting to emerge.

There’s something so satisfying about watching the lines become more defined, little by little. ✨🌿
