Tchotchkes & Collectibles - A challenge with lessons

Week: Four
Prompt: Tchotchkes & Collectibles
Progress: Getting there!
First let me share week three's prompt! I am very late at sharing this week. This one was more tricky and although not super ecstatic about it, I did it! Tea cup pattern on tea cups (why not?!) I do love the playful whimsy feel and how the hearts help anchor the pattern.

It is hard pushing out of your comfort, even just in drawing prompts! I wonder why that is. Is it just due to our mind being so strong as to sticking to what we know? Or just the feeling of failing that comes with stepping further from comfort? Or just stubbornness lol?
Although I did really enjoy how it made me create this fun little character inspired by the Jellycat teabag (who just stole my heart.) This felt like the perfect place to add him! So all in all, this was a fun one ☺️

Last week in the creative challenge! - The Tchotchkes & Collectibles?
Okay, so I have to admit...I had to look up Tchotchkes! 🫣 (Not off to a great start I will admit.) So Collectibles it is!
I will say, although this has been a month of so many things, this challenge has been interesting and maybe it is because I am logging my experience while diving into something different along the way.
Although, I do think I took on a wee bit too much at once, I am giving myself permission to take it slow and worry less about the pressure... in which is time!
I feel this pattern/artwork is still a work in progress, and one I am interested to visit further. But this is it and I can happily say... I did it!

Thank you to the hosts for The Vintage Treasures Art Challenge. It has been ... a challenge for this gal! 😉 @retrobananadesigns, @lifes.peachey, @mollymariepea, @care2c, @papergrapeprints
